Run to the Sun – Mt Maunganui http://www.vwownersclub.co.nz/event/run-to-the-sun-mt-maunganui-2/ Fri, 16 Feb 2018 01:00:00 +0000 http://www.vwownersclub.co.nz/?post_type=tribe_events&p=257 Continue reading "Run to the Sun – Mt Maunganui"]]> Hi Run to the Sun’ers.
Its that time again. 6 months to go to RTTS3 “The return of the Jetta” Time to start planning and booking your 2017-18 summer dub weekends away.
We have a few changes planned this time around, possibly the biggest being Run to the Sun is now a three day event !! To make the event a more appealing trip for those of you coming from far and wide, for those that want, RTTS3 starts on Thursday evening the 15th of February 2018. Otherwise roll up Friday morning.
The second change. RTTS is now in February. In an attempt to avoid the tsunami that was RTTS2 we have brought the date forward a few weeks so Run to the Sun is now officially a summer event for the first time.
It was an effort negotiating use of the Mount camp site for a weekend during peak holiday season, but we have managed to secure 50 sites all together for the 16th, 17th and 18th of February. To achieve this we have booked the harbour side of the Mount Maunganui holiday park. This side, for those that don’t know it, is located on the Tauranga harbours edge and Pilot bay beach. It is a flat, one level area which will allow all of us to be together. Using this side has also given us some new ideas for entertainment. It is still in planning but promises to be a highlight of the weekend.
As we have said above, we have secured 50 sites. Only 50 !!!
from past experience this will book out fast. This means if you want to be part of RTTS3, and want to stay in the heart of beautiful Mount Maunganui, surrounded by dubs and fellow members of the NZ dub family then you need to get in while the getting’s good.
Booking details are as follows;
To book your site just call the Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park on 07 5754471 and tell them you are booking in as part of the Run to the Sun VW event. Payment is on booking and is really the only way to secure your place at the campsite. The Holiday park has again offered us a great discounted rate. Costs are $20 per adult per night and $10 per child per night. The Campsite is booked from Friday 16 February to Sunday 18 February. Those wishing to stay on the Thursday night too, please book for the night of the 15th too. That covers your accomodation costs.

The event cost is $30 per vehicle for the whole event. This can be paid directly to the RTTS account. Please don’t forget to add your name as a reference so we know who has paid. The kiwi bank account number is 38 9011 007538301. This small entry fee goes entirely towards the running of this event, insurances, prizes and of course the stickers.
The RTTS wish to thank all those that have attended previous events and warmly welcome all new comers.
See you at the beach.
